Media-ICT Rotary Classes: Website Project

You will create a website to display learning about various topics, using iWeb.

A. Design a personal logo using Macromedia Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop. All work must be original. Look at these sites for ideas of how to design a logo:

B. Create your site in iWeb. NOTE: VERY SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED TO GET STARTED. Mr. Higgins will guide you through this but here are some instructions for your reference.

C. Your website will contain the following sections:

1. Welcome

2. About Me

3. School

4. Social Life

5. Hobbies

6. Future Goals

D. Your website will also include the following elements:

- at least one movie created with iMovie

- at least one graphic (such as your Personal Logo) created by you using Photoshop or Fireworks

- at least one piece of edited sound created by you using Garageband

- anything extra you can think of: e.g. a comic created using Comic Life, a chart using Smart Ideas, a graph or table created in Appleworks.

E. NOTE: These sites will not be uploaded to the internet, unless arranged with permission at the time of their completion. Do not use any personal or identifying information beyond your first name.

F.Instructions for setting up your project:

1) Search the Users Shared folder for a file called Domain.

2) When you find it, click once on it. Then, hold your Apple key down and press the C (copy) key.

3) Create your own folder in the Users Shared by going to File>New Folder. Rename the folder Yourclass + your firstname. Enter this folder.

4) Once inside this folder, hold your Apple key down and press the V (paste) key. It will copy the Domain file there. DO NOT RENAME THIS FILE. Double click on this file.

5) This will open up someone else's project. Change it. Close it. If you are asked, save it to your folder.

6) Whenever you want to work on this site, you must open it by going inside your folder and double clicking on your Domain file.
