Studio to Go / Application Programs / Contact Teacher / Roles

Studio to Go is a mobile multimedia kit that instantly brings the power of technology to any classroom. Beginning in January 2008, Mr. Higgins will be organizing his grade 7 homeroom students to bring Studio to Go into the primary and junior classrooms at Swansea for one-week blocks. Teachers can sign up by emailing Mr. Higgins.

The package contains:

- 6 Apple iBooks, wireless

- An Airport Extreme wireless station

Application Programs

Participants can learn powerful new skills using movie, sound and presentational software. Some featured programs include:

- iMovie

- GarageBand

- iPhoto

- iTunes

- Keynote

Contact Teacher

Chris Higgins is a teacher in the Toronto District School Board. He has been teaching computers and/or working in the computer industry since 1986. Mr. Higgins holds a Masters in Education and is a regular presenter at technology conferences.

The Role of the Teacher-Liaision

Teachers who book Studio to Go must arrange to:

- Plan a specific use for the equipment (i.e. internet research on (a) given curriculum strand/s, or create a presentation using Keynote)

- Have their students create a brief presentation to demonstrate learning at the end of the week

The Role of the Learner (May be students or groups of TDSB Staff)

- Use the equipment responsibly

- Work cooperatively in groups
