Good Morning Everyone,

I went home yesterday and felt horrible. I think I got what Casey had. Anyways, needless to say, I will be away today, but will try to make it back for tomorrow.

Please be very cooperative with the visiting teacher. It was so nice to get a good letter about your conduct on Tuesday, so let's try for another one.

You have homeroom for periods 3, 5 and 6 today.

Period three: continue taking notes in Smart Ideas from the video, Rebellion and Reform.

Period five: keep working at your websites. You may begin to plug in information about the various topics, i.e. on the history page, you can start to write about the period of Conflict and Change in Upper and Lower Canada. In Science, you can write about some of the concepts you researched the other day. On the Language Arts, page, you can write about the book you are reading right now. And so on.

Period six: Silent Reading with Group A going to Resource. (Romell, Ryan, Muna, Rachel, Alex)

Have a great day. Hope to see you tomorrow.

Mr. Higgins

Tuesday, March 25

Good Morning,

Welcome to our visiting teacher - thanks for being here. I hope the students will make your day enjoyable. Computers will be used for periods 3 and 4 but will not be on for period 6. The students know there is no playing online computer games, or other off-task computer use. Please leave a list of names indicating anyone who IS or is NOT helpful today.

Students:

I hope everyone had a great looooong weekend. Today, I have to be home with Casey who has been sick for a couple of days. Here are your assignments for today:

Periods:

3 - Search for the answers to these questions in preparation for our next Science unit on Heat. Write the answers in your Journal (not your Reading Log, but your Journal).

4 - Watch the History movie and record facts (take notes about what the video teaches you) in Smart Ideas. Teacher: the class will need a few minutes to set up a new Smart Ideas file - it should be called "B2namehistory3". As they watch the video, they will be writing on their computers. THEY KNOW THEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE ON TASK AND NOT DOING ANYTHING ELSE - no playing games during the video.

6 - Silent Reading: Resource Group A (Romell, Ryan, Muna, Rachel, Alex) goes to the Resource room; they should have their Novels and Reading Logs. - I will be checking everyone's Reading Log tomorrow to see that you have done the following:

- read for about 1/2 hour

- write an entry about what you read in your Reading log complete with the title of what you are reading, the author, the date, the pages read and the 3 r's (or just a general summary).

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT HAVE NOVELS: READ A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC AND PUT YOUR READING LOG ON MY DESK AT THE END OF THE PERIOD SO I CAN CHECK IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. Everyone is expected to have a novel at this time.

See you tomorrow,

Mr. Higgins
